Recipe: Egg Roll Bowl



  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small cabbage
  • ½ cup onion (finely diced)
  • 1 cup carrots (shredded)
  • 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • ½ tsp ginger (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Olive oil
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • Green onions (optional)


  1. In a large pan add olive oil and cook your onions until clear. 
  2. Add ground beef and cook until almost done.
  3. Add shredded carrots, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, vinegars, salt, and pepper and chicken broth.  Mix well.
  4. Add cabbage, stir well and cover with a lid.  Cook for 10-15 minutes until cabbage is soft.
  5. Before serving add sesame oil and top with toasted sesame seeds and green onions (optional).  Serve with Jasmin rice or eat it by itself.
