Recipes: Baked Chickpeas (Garbanzo Beans)

First empty out a can of garbanzo beans onto a paper towel.











Then take another paper towel and put it over the top.  Now begin to rub them dry.  You will noticed the skins will come off too.  You want to keep rubbing them until they are dry.











Pick off all the skins and toss them out.











Next you will want to add them all to a zip-lock bag.











Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.











Add the 3 following ingredients to the bag.











Mix the bag around until everything is covered.











Add them to a baking sheet.  Then cook for 45 minutes at 400 degrees.  You should shake the cookie sheet around every ten minutes or so that the garbanzo beans don’t burn.











They should be a nice golden brown, with a little bit of a crunch.  This is a healthy snack for the whole family.   These need to be eaten shortly after they are made so only make enough for you to eat right away.  They won’t be as good after about 8 hours or so.

1 15 ounce can garbanzo beans
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

  1. Preheat oven to 400. Drain garbanzo beans. Place them on a  paper towels and pat dry.
  2. Place beans in a zip-lock bag and add olive oil. Toss and coat garbanzo beans.  Add paprika, garlic powder, cumin and toss them again.
  3. Add them to a cookie sheet and place in them in the oven.
  4. Bake for about 45 minutes and remember to shake them around every ten minutes or so. Once they are a golden brown, take them out because they are done!
  5. Enjoy!
