Movie: The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.  But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane Release Date: July 20th, 2012

Stars: Christian Bale, Tom Hardy , Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Anne Hathaway

My Review:

Here we are again with another batman movie, will it be as good as the previous one or will it fall short? The Dark Knight Rises did not fall short, it was intriguing, exciting and action packed!  It’s funny though because with The Dark Knight, I really believe that Heather Ledger was the star of that film.  His portrayal of the joker was uncanny, as good….if not better than Jack Nicholson’s.  In The Dark Knight Rises I find myself again not focusing on Batman’s character but rather Bane, played by Tom Hardy.  I don’t think anyone will live up to the brilliant performance of Heath Ledger but Tom Hardy comes extremely close.  I was really surprised how much I loved him in this film because the first time I saw him was playing the love interest to Reese Witherspoon in “This Means War”, which was horrible.  To see him go from that ridiculous character to Bane was just amazing.  This film will keep you engaged the entire time with some many unknown possibilities, who’s good, who’s bad? This movie has everyone getting shot at, tons of  fight scenes, flashbacks, gun fire and of course good vs evil. It’s an amazing film and it must be on your to do list if you haven’t’ seen this yet.  I love the past 3 batman movies and I can’t wait to see what else the Christopher Nolan comes up with.
My Rating: A+
