For Nick, Kurt and Dale, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently. There’s only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. Released: June 24th 2011
Horrible bosses felt like a breath of fresh air to me. I think the way movies are made now it’s hard to find one that isn’t like all the others. I can’t remember a movie that I’ve seen that was like this one. It’s about 3 guys with 3 horrible bosses. One night while drinking they decided to kill each others bosses. In the movie you’ve got one psychotic boss, one sexually turbo charged man eater and then the biggest tool you’ve ever seen. Kevin Spacey has always been good at playing different characters, so to see him play an evil boss is not surprising. You just hate him right off the bat because he is suck a dick to poor sweet Jason Bateman. I loved seeing Jennifer Aniston play something other than the girlfriend in a love story. She was so sexy, funny and crazy that it was kind of surprising to see her acting in this role. I really hope she continues to go outside the box and accepts roles for different characters. Sandra Bullock is a good example of that, someone who can play funny and serious characters. Horrible bosses has come up with a great character played by Colin Farrell who is HILARIOUS. He is such an idiot but he makes you laugh the whole time. He takes over for his father and in turn also takes the promotion away from Jason Sudeikis’s character Kurt. He is the last person that should be running a company. Here’s a clip of Bobby the tool……..(Bobby is Colin Farrell, Kurt is Jason Sudeikis)
Bobby Pellit: I want you to fire the fat people.
Kurt Buckman: What?
Bobby Pellit: They’re lazy and they’re slow and they make me sick to look at. You can start with large Marge.
[speaks into his intercom]
Bobby Pellit: Marge, can you come in here please?
Kurt Buckman: No! Margie’s not fat, she’s pregnant! I’m not gonna fire her.
Bobby Pellit: Okay. Fine.
[speaks into his intercom again]
Bobby Pellit: Uh…stay where you are, Marge. Congratulations.
This has such a great cast and the writing was done really well, and don’t forget about the guys who do the editing. Sometimes editing can make or break a movie. You definitely need to go watch this movie and you really need to buy it on DVD so you can watch it over and over.
