Movie Review: Bridesmaids (2011)

Annie’s life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian’s maid of honor. Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she’ll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you’ll go for someone you love. Released: May 13th 2011

Stars: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy , Chris O’Dowd , Ellie Kemper and Rose Byrne

My Review:
This movie actually had perfect timing for me and my best friend Lisa. The weekend this movie was release she was having a bachlorette party. At the end of the weekend we caught this flick and OMG it is hilarious. The best way I can describe it is that it’s like a girls version of The Hangover. Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo are amazing writers and they really know how to keep things flowing and keep each scene extremely funny. Each of the characters were very relatable to people I’ve known. You have one that’s the pretty/popular girl, the crazy lady, the innocent one, the out of her mind embarrassing one and then of course the jealous maid of honor. I was laughing the entire time and Melissa McCarthy really stole the show. She was crude, rude, embarrassing and hilarious all at the same time. Kristen Wiig’s character has hit bottom and she is trying to get out of this hole but she has an asshole lover, crazy roommates and a typical overbearing mother that can’t mind her own business. With everything going on she does meet a nice and handsome police officer that really adds to the story line. He is charming and so sweet to her even though she keeps disappointing him. There are a few scenes with the police officer and Kristen Wiig’s character that are hilarious and I really recommend that everyone, guys and girls, young and old watch this movie!
My Rating: A+
